iPhone Shooter: Scribble Hero-Insane Ambidextrous Shooter
The Doodle iPhone shooter Scribble Hero challenges you to shoot your way through 50 heart pounding levels of left-right..left-right gameplay featuring frantic fast-paced shooter gameplay, 10 bosses, upgradeable weapons and ingenious doodle power-ups. Scribble Hero will capture your attention immediately with the unique iPhone shooter gameplay that this app brings to the table. You are Scribble Hero, a “Doodle Character” who is on a mission to shoot his way through a notebook of dangerous chapters to rescue his girlfriend — named appropriately: Dot!
The unique gameplay this iPhone shooter offers is the direction our Scribble Hero shoots. When you are on the right side of the page (game board) you shoot to left, and when on the left side of the page (game board) you shoot towards the right. This may sound confusing or not that significant, but when playing the game it is vital to your survival. The 50 levels of gameplay include massive waves of different enemies coming at you from all directions, that mixed with the unique shooting limitation means you have to be crafty and quick to stay alive — especially in the later levels. The weapons, sidekicks and items are named along the same lines of silliness that you’ll find in this game like: Berzoka (Bazooka), Eraser Shield Boost (shield), Black Hole Punch, which is one of my personal favorites: a hole on the page that enemies fall into — never to be seen again.
There are a couple of things parents should be aware of, as well as anyone else who does not want to spend a gasping $49 on in app purchase (IAP). This iPhone shooter game costs $0.99, which is totally worth it. Even the IAP is not bad for $0.99 and gets you a small bag of coins (4,000), which will get you some items. It is how they place the IAP purchase buttons in the app. They force you through a purchase in the tutorial, paying for the item from the shop, clearly greasing the wheels for kids and others to make IAP purchases, which generally I have nothing against. But the implementation of the IAP coin purchase buttons is a bit shady. The $0.99 purchase button is located near the middle of 5 purchase buttons in this order: $19.99, $0.99, $2.99, $9.99, and $49.99. I went to purchase and my natural tendency is that the $0.99 would be to the far left, so at first I did not think one existed until I slowed down and took in the scenery.
I am not against making money off of apps (developers deserve to make money for their work), but any $0.99 that has an IAP of $39.99 is just plain greedy, especially when this game has massive appeal to young kids. This iPhone shooter, Scribble Hero, is a must have download for anybody who wants to play a fun game on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch — but Buyer Beware of the IAP’s in this app.
I like writing diferent iphone app reviews.
