Description
Beautifully modelled with a double-scrolled branch issuing from a lion's mask, these wall-lights prominently feature classical portrait relief medallions, probably depicting Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great. These distinct 'medallions' link these wall-lights to a magnificent series of chandeliers attributed to Boulle, examples of which can be found in the collections of the J.Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, as well as the Louvre and the Musée Jacquemart-André, Paris.
