A 3D printable robust, durable and efficient Cleat spanning 200 mm (~ 8”), to secure and anchor lines or ropes to a boat, canoe, dock, mast, wall or other surface, which is attached or mounted to the surface using standard M7 (~1/4”) hardware. Optionally, the bolt holes can be reamed out using a mesh to use M8 (~ 5/16”) hardware.
The part can be easily 3D printed, without any support, on a modern inexpensive smaller 3D Printer. It can be printed with a variety of materials, including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, Nylon and many other types of printable materials.
PETG works very well for this application. It is easy to print. The object should be durable and easy to maintain.
ASA may be the best material for prolong outdoor use where the part will be exposed to UV. However, it may not be suitable for all 3D printers.
PLA should work as well, as long as the parts will not be used, stored or kept in a high temperature environment, exceeding ~55 C (~ 130 F).

Nylon insert locking nuts optional
Assembly Instructions
1- Depending on your printer’s calibration it may be necessary to ream the screw holes to the correct size for proper bolt fit using a 7 mm (1/4”) mesh
2- Mount the cleat to the intended surface using your hardware.
3- If desired, the holes can be reamed using an 8 mm (5/16”) mesh to allow the use of M8 (5/16”) hardware instead of the standard M7size.
