Description
This sculpture in bas-relief represents the figure of a saint, holding the Holy Scripture, and his head is circled a halo representing his sanctity.
As many pieces of its time, this statue, sculpted in the shape of a medallion as one of those you could see in the Gothic illuminations. In those times when most people could not read, sculptures and paintings in churchs were meant to illustrate and teach the Bible to all believers.
