Christmas X-mas Winter Sceneries for LED Tealight
Christmas X-mas Winter Sceneries for LED Tealight

Note: This is a repost of my same design published December 2018 in Thingiverse - since Thingiverse website is getting worse and worse I transfer some designs here to MMF!

Inspired by similar but much bigger lighted winter/christmas sceneries I thought I would to try to make a small scenery to put on top of a LED-tealight (Diameter: 36mm or smaller). **NEVER EVER TRY TO USE THESE WITH REAL CANDLE TEALIGHTS!!**
I searched Thingiverse for suitable objects and found a lot, but not all were printable in the desired very small size. I did a lot of testing with various objects and settings to find a decent solution.
Final versions are an easy to print "Winter village scene" and a (much) harder to print "Deer family scene".
Both versions are only printable in 0.1mm resolution (or finer) and -very important- with proper retract settings to avoid stringing. If you are not sure, try settings in your slicer that force retracts even after minimum travel and minimum extruded material - thus unfortunately resulting in longer printing times due to the many retracts. But you will get almost string-free prints with the proper settings!
(I found out that changing temperate between 195° and 220° only had very little influence on stringing issues, but retract settings are most important!)
The simple cup (as case for the LED-tealight) is a very easy print, which can be fast printed with a 0.25mm resolution. It is optimized for 0.4mm nozzle, as the walls are 0.8mm thick which allows fast circular printing.
Print as many of theses as you wish and use them for stocking stuffing or giveaways, but please don't sell them!
Of course all credits for the nice original objects go to the original authors, the remixed objects are:

Happy X-mas everyone!
...and I would be happy to see some makes!!!
Printer: Creality Ender-2
Rafts: No
Supports: No (try it! it will really work!!)
Resolution: 0.1 for the scenery, 0.25 for the cup
Infill: 15%
Filament_color: white for the scenery, any color for the cup
Filament_material: PLA
Notes: Check your retract settings if there is too much stringing!
For the ender 2, with Cura 15.x, I recommend retract settings as followed (for some settings use expert mode):
retract 8mm, speed 100mm, z-hop = 0, minimim travel = 1mm, minimum extracted material to 0.05 mm
(as written before, this forces many retracts, but stringing won't be an issue then!)
Post-Printing:
Get a suitable LED-tealight (36 mm dia), remove the plastic fake flame* on top, insert it in the cup and put the cover with the scenery on top!
(* I found that the fake flame is almost on all LED-tealights just snapped in from the top - so wiggle it a bit and you should get it out)
