Description
Monumental sculpture in the shape of an Ayotl (turtle). The turtle was one of the most revered animals and was, apparently, an accompanist to musicians and dancers. From their shell they made the 'ayotapalcat' percussion instrument, whose sound at the faculty to provoke the joy of Tlaloc and attracted thunder.
