Description
Coup de grisou, the French name for this sculpture, literally means explosion in the mines.
The artist, Greber, sculptor a man in a desperate pose with all his body contorted and protecting himself with his hand almost covering his eyes. Here, the man has been depicted wearing trousers, probably the ones he was wearing while working in the mine.
