I've built this plane twice. After having crashed and repaired the first one into oblivion this plane was built stronger where the first plane broke. The main breakage happened down the middle of the wing because the small wooden spar they give you is weaker than the leverage the wing creates on impact leaving the wings feeling squishy. The spar stl can be printed in any material but I've used pla. This piece reinforces the dihedral in the middle where the woodgrain fails which allows the straight length of wood spar to flex while keeping the wing rigid. This piece is installed before gluing the servo pod to the wing. The second stl is a 3rd person view camera mount which fixes to the verticle stab. I used a caddx ant fpv drone camera and a vtx with onboard dvr but fits 14x14mm mounting. This cam mount is intended to be a generic mount to fit flite test planes. It features two holes in which scrap filiment can be cut to a point and used to pierce through the verticle stab and lock the mount in position. Then the excess can be trimmed flush. I've noticed flite test offers nylon printer firewalls. On one hand having a firewall that doesn't break like wood ones would be nice. On the other hand because the firewall breaks a lot of energy is absorbed instead of being transfered through the airframe. I've drawn up the part but I haven't tried it using nylon. Once I develope a prefference I would install the printed firewall from the beginning instead of as a repair part. The last mod can be seen in the cardboard fuselage pic. The bottom of the plane is strong but the vents along the walls and the open top make the nose crumple back and up in a crash. I've cut triangle pieces and glued them between the powerpod and the walls of the plane. They are glued in so the long arm of the triangle is reinforcing the top of the nose. In the picture one triangle is in place and the other is mocked up on the outside to show size and orientation. I've also modified the opening where the battery goes by bending it down and gluing it to the end of the verticle spar that runs down the tail. I did this for easy access to the electronics. Zohd kopilot is an all in one stabilization and gps return/geofence/loiter plus autolaunch.
