This vise can be used to well.... clamp stuff! There are horizontal and vertical slots in the jaws so that they can clamp round objects or even PCBs. This will make it a lot easier to solder PCBs, or hold small objects together during a glue-up. There are 4 holes that can be used to securely mount the vise to a workbench.
There are 2 versions of the "Left and Right Gears(Print 2)". The files ending with "tight" means the tolerances and tighter and the files ending with "loose" have looser tolerances. You only need to use 1 type of file.
Assembly:
1. Print everything. This vise is 100% 3d printable.
2. Sandwich the jaws in between the 2 halves before gluing them together.
3. Slide the threaded rods into the largest holes in the base and then thread them into the threaded gears. Thread them until they reach they are securely connected to the sliding jaw.
4. Assemble the other gears as shown. The middle gear connects to the knob. Glue them together, but I used an m4 screw to hold the knob more securely.
5. Insert the 2 inserts that hold the position of the free-moving jaw.
6. Clamp something!
Use the pictures for reference by clicking on the image to see it uncropped.
Print all of the large parts with 15% infill and the inserts, gears, and threaded rods with 100% infill.
