Description
This relief depicts a banquet, a very common motif in Greek iconography. This figurative scheme was widespread both in votive and funerary circles.
A manly figure is lying on the right, while a woman is seated at the very end of the kline, dressed in a himation (greek outer garment). In front of the two figures is a tripes canteen with offerings (sweets?) on top. The funerary purpose can be identified in some details such as the woman's veiled head and the farewell gesture, both typical of Greek funerary iconography.
