Because of the close ties the Lizardpeople have with the sun for their energy they revere him as a God King, part reptile part divine. Due to the election process, only the most mighty can take this primary role for themselves and thus a strong leader is always at the helm of the Empire. Due to their size they are often carried aloft giant platforms, although they do have the magical fortitude to levitate it is seen as a great honour to carry a Sovereign and thus they grant their subjects this honour to do so.
