Print Wedges
Print Wedges

If you’ve been around 3D prints for a while, your fingers probably show battle scars of the most dangerous part of 3D printing: the removal of the print using sharp objects.
We think there is a better way. After you lift a part of the print (with any standard tool), place the first wedge at that location and put aside all sharp tools.
The second wedge fits in the space adjacent to the first wedge, so we can “walk” the wedges around the print.
In our experience, this method is not only faster than the traditional struggle with standard sharp tools, often resulting in close calls of sharp blades gliding close to our fingers, it is also very relaxing. The separating forces of wedges are quite extreme and you can use time to your advantage. We sometimes just leave a few wedges in place and return after a cup of coffee to see the print separate itself from the bed without any further assistance.
You can "walk" wedges around your print with just two wedges, but we prefer to use 4-6 for larger prints.
Print setting: layer 0.1 MM preferred, 0.2 MM is OK, fill at least 40% for structural strength.
