Joshua Bardwell edition qav-s by lumier. These skins are designed to be simple but rubust. There is an xt60 mount that will hold your plug and slip over the standoff leaving a suprisingly secure protected vbat mount. You can run your strap over or under, I preffer over.
Ive taken advantage of the rear standoffs by designing a different way to hold the vista or in this case runcam link. Designed more like a piece of jewelery I hold the vista captive at the corners. All sides are exposed to air for optimal cooling. My build has the dvr which fits but leaves no room for nuts to thread onto the 20x20 bolts. There are also no mating holes in the top plate for passing zipties through. So my parts are designed to hold the vista or link sucurely in place with or without screws/zipties. If you do not run the dvr then there is room for hardware. If you do run the dvr then there is no need for hardware or zipties. The antenna is tucked away where it is less likely to be hit. I fly backwards a lot so I am constantly looking for better ways to protect my antennas. LetsflyRC is having good results running antennas like this. I am including single and dual antenna versions. A cool feature of the antenna mount is a channel to pass a small ziptie through. Your antenna is held secure and the ziptie is sucked into the part.
If you are using an o3 air unit I have included mounts in the same style as the vista mounts. Will fit the stock antenna but you have to cut 1inch off of the plastic tube (the stick part of the lolipop). The plastic cuts easily but be carefull not to damage your antenna wires. Because the top plate might be covered by the battery the o3 is held up off of the floor for better cooling. I also use the space for an led strip or running wires.
The skids print in a verticle position with no supports. Large part on the bottom. Use the 'flatten part to printbed' feature. I have designed the part to support itself. I feel like the personality really came out in these skids. I would like to see more protection for the motor bells but any changes I made seemed to take away from the design. So Im going to fly these until I see the need for another itteration.
The camera mount is a temp solution until Joshua Bardwell gets his new standoffs machined. It holds the camera secure at about 25 degrees. With the wide field of view this should be sufficient but if someone wanted to lower or raise the camera you just need to cut the top bridge with a razor. This bridge is what prevents the camera from rotating but with it removed there is a full range of motion. I have placed the camera as low and forward as possible to minimize seeing the frame in view. I will be taking advantage of the onboard dvr instead of running an action cam.
I print with a .5 nozzel. most parts are deigned to print with no supports but the front vista mount with the antenna does use supports. Its designed to not need them but quality will suffer slightly, the choice is yours.
My tpu tune is getting much better. Im not a tune guru but Ive found printing at the lowest temps with as much speed as the nozzel will flow gives me the least stringing, within reason.
