Skyrim Quest Marker - Pointer to Person or Object - Remix
Published 2023-08-22T09:52:39+00:00 • Remixed from Skyrim questmarker
- This is the quest marker that points to the specific item/person you're heading towards (once you're inside the same room/building or both outdoors).
I remixed this from the Skyrim Quest Marker that shows you need to go through a door.
I cut this out of the original quest marker model and then resized it up by 50%.
The black outline is printed as one piece and the white interior pieces are two parts. The white pieces just fit into the black outline, however, you will likely need to sand the edges a little for them snap in and fit.
The original model came with a wall hook that I resized to fit with this. You can also stick it up with doublesided tape or a command hook strip.
Ideas:
Consider printing this quest marker and the original as a fun joke for the gamer in your life. For example, put the Door Marker on the bedroom door and this marker over the bed (or their xbox or their favorite snack).
Software Used: - Meshmixer
- Cura
My Printer: Ender 3 S1 Plus
Material: PLA (White - Overture Brand, Black - Eleego)
Print Temp: 200c
Speed: 60mm/s
Infill: 10%
Build Plate Adhesion: Skirt
Slicer: Cura
Supports: None
Z Seam: Sharpest Corner
Build Plate Adhesion:
Do not use a brim unless absolutely necessary. The pieces fit very tightly together. You're not going to be able to trim the brim closely eneough for it to not impact the fit.
Positioning Note: The part of the white pieces that will be visible while hanging is the side that prints face down on the build plate. This is to allow the design to print without needing supports for the wall hanger notch.
Expectation Setting:
This fit between the pieces is very tight. You will need to sand the sides a little for the white pieces to snap inside the black.
Alternatively you can merge the pieces in your slicer and print the model as one piece that you either paint or print in layers and change colors (eg print black first and then the white design as the top layers).
Tip: If you're having trouble fitting the pieces together try flipping one of them around. This design was made by humans and the sides are not perfect symetrical mirrors of each other. This means the white pieces are only meant to fit into the black pieces one way.
