3D-printed hollow chassis of an elf lady. Roughly 2/3 life-size. Split into 25 separate parts so that even people with small 3d-printers (200mm x 200mm hot-bed) can make her. I realise that you can mirror parts in a slicer, but I decided to include both left and right-sided .stls so people can easily see how all the bits fit together, just like shown in the Fusion360 model.
Rafts: Doesn't Matter
Filament_material: PLA or ABS
Supports: Yes
Resolution:0.2mm
Infill: many parts can be printed standing up and don't need infill, but for those that do, I just used 20% triangular.
Equipment List
You will need:
1.) Gorilla glue (1 x 60ml bottle).
2.) Kitchen roll.
3.) A spray bottle that you can fill with water (to activate the Gorilla glue).
4.) Small clamps - I used four old jump-cable crocodile clamps but if you have small C or G clamps then even better.
5.) Flexible decorator's acrylic filler or caulk.
6.) A caulking gun/sealant gun (for filling in small seams and gaps).
7.) A large, strong pair of scissors.
8.) Clear plastic milk bottles (two or three) - you can cut plastic squares and rectangles from these to fill any larger gaps that may appear in your model.
9.) At least one medium sized, flat metal file.
10.) Sandpaper (ideally a couple of different fine grades).
11.) Sprue cutters (basic ones for snipping plastic).
12.) Long nose/needle nose pliers (for removing excess support plastic).
13.) Elastic bands and some Blu-Tack (to temporarily hold the harder-to clamp parts as they glue).
14.) White plastic undercoat and black gloss paint for painting her eyeballs (if you want the same color eyes as me, but of course you can choose whatever topcoat you want!) Also some paint for eyelashes as well (although I must own up to simply drawing her eyelashes on with a Sharpie marker).
15.) A wig for her hair.
16.) Spray paints for when Sophie is all glued together and you want to cover up all of those seams. I used 2 coats of white enamel undercoat and 2 coats of white gloss enamel. (Remember to take off her wig, remove the top of her head and take out her eyeballs and remove her eyebrows before you spray!)
17.) Junior hacksaw to cut away any excess pieces of plastic if necessary.
18.) PVA glue to stick her paper eyebrows on :D
