Design in Fusion 360 and printed using the MK3 MMU 2.0 i decided to model this flag to spec in accordance with the applicable rules and ordinances of flag design and size. So needless to say this model is drawn to scale.
Sliced in Slic3r Prusa Edition.
To properly import model, select 1 stl and import it, right click on that imported model and in the sub menu, click the setting button, once the new window opens, click on the load model button and select the rest of the parts, then import them. the slicer will import them into the correct locations and you then can assign the individual bodies to individual extruders.
Some slicers will auto size the flag to maximum bed size, some will not.
Slic3r Prusa Edition will auto scale to 18%, i printed this at 10% if i remember right
At 100% scale Flag is:
- 1370mm (approx 54 inches) long
- 685mm (approx 27 inches) wide
- 100 mm (Approx 4 inches) thick
- Adjust scale accordingly and carefully.
I salute and respect our men and women in uniform and greatly appreciate the sacrifices that they make for us on the daily basis, so i decided to make this MMU model in their honor.
May have to adjust extrusion width and layer height on first layers to get all the segments to butt against each other as if it were a 1 piece design.
In my design, i designed the Union and corresponding stripes to be interconnected inside the model to make 1 body for all the black parts.
Followed same procedure for the Stars and corresponding white stripes and Last the Blue line is a body of its own.
As this model is printing youll be able to see how i interconnected the body parts to each other to allow for me to reduce the number of individual parts from around 64 or so individual bodies to 3.
I havent tried it yet but i might recommend printing at the most fine detail your printer can handle, Reason is that when model gets scaled down, the stars shrink, at .2 layer height, the stars will be too small to completely fill in, as you can see from my photos.
working on another model with a solid base as a back plate and will upload those files once it is done.
Model also has the ability to become a:
Thin Red Line = Firefighters
Thin Green Line = Border Patrol, Park Rangers, Game Wardens (Federal Agents)
Thin White Line (Blue line with smaller white stripe) = EMS Officials **working on modeling**
Thin Red Line (White Stripe with smaller Red Stripe) = Registered Nurses **working on modeling**
Thin Yellow Line = Tow Truck Drivers, Security Guards, Loss Prevention
Thin Gold Line = Dispatchers
Thin Orange Line = Search and Rescue personnel
ALSO: Military representations of above
Thin Blue Line = Air Force and Navy
Thin Red Line = Coast Guard and Marines
Thin Green Line = Army and the Military Police
Thin White Line = National Guard Members and All Veterans
Please remember to Honor our fallen and dont forget without them, we would have nothing.
If you like the models (more versions coming) feel free to leave a tip, i won't mind
