Warframe Duviri Mask Stand Remix Version 3
Warframe Duviri Mask Stand Remix Version 3
Published 2023-04-11T09:10:49+00:00
This is a very hastily-designed remix of the Duviri Mask stand that was officially provided by Digital Extremes for the release of their major 2023 expansion for Warframe, the Duviri Paradox.
Unfortunately, the size of the original stand model is a whopping 228 x 152 x 330mm, thus requiring a large-format printer for the height. This remix breaks down the stand into multiple parts that can be printed on most consumer printers. Simply print the parts, glue them together, then sand and paint if you prefer.
--== UPDATED ON 10 APRIL 2023 ==--
I have added a new version 3 set of files that add a connector block between all three pieces. This will not only help to make sure that they are all aligned, but it will also add extra surface area for glue and help to keep the parts in place while sanding and painting (optional).
The lastest version contains seven parts total:
- The base section as a whole (228 x 133 x 109 mm)
- The base section as two halves (114 x 133 x 109 mm)
- Mid section (149 x 104 x 151 mm)
- Top (26 x 32 x 71 mm)
- Rear brace (70 x 25 x 1 mm)
- Connector block (12 x 12 x 29 mm) - version 3 only
--== NOTE FOR MID SECTION ==--
You might have better luck printing the middle section lengthwise (on its back) instead of in an upright position. Printing it upright could make it structurally weaker and prone to breaking when removing support material or sanding it afterward. To print the mid section on its back using Cura 5.x or higher:
- Load the file in Cura 5.x and select the part.
- Select "Rotate" or press "R".
- Click "Select face to align to the build plate" (should be the grid icon on the right).
- While that function is selected, click on the back of the mid section. The mid section should now be laying down on the build plate.
- Right-click => Center Selected to center the part on the build plate
--== ORIGINAL V1 and V2 POST ==--
The optional rear brace is used on the back of the stand to give more surface area for glue between the bottom and middle sections in the event that you need some extra strength to hold the mask. Assemble the lower and middle parts then apply the brace on the back between the two like a bandage. It's only 1mm thick so visually it will add practically nothing while still giving the two parts significantly more strength.
I have added three additional parts (version 2) that will provide a more secure locking mechanism to keep the base and middle parts together. This option is recommended only if you can print the base section in its entirety. If you need to split the base into two, use the original version.
- The v2 base section as a whole (228 x 133 x 109 mm)
- The v2 mid section (149 x 104 x 151 mm)
- v2 lock pin to more securely attach the two parts together (40 x 10 x 17mm)
