Another amazing spring printed without supports using regular old PLA! This springo has a smooth wavy surface that can come off as fun or classy, depending on your color choice.
Print at .15mm layer height for this to work correctly. Check the layers in your slicer, there should be a 1-2 layer gap between each layer of the spring. I print with 3 shells/outlines and 7 top, 6 bottom layers so the spring itself is solid. After printing, separate carefully with a palette knife, butter knife, etc. How easily the springo separates will vary based on your printer, filament, slicer settings, etc.. So good luck and please share your results!
You should be very cautious separating the layers of the springo, but once it's correctly popped apart these things are surprisingly resiliant for PLA prints.
Model photographed was printed with MatterHackers PRO PLA Neon Green. It looks wicked, and glows under a black light!
