Description
This fragment of a gypsum figure represents Isis, the Egyptian goddess worshipped as the ideal mother and wife as well as the patroness of nature and magic. In her typical pose, she stands with her right hand clutched to her breast and supporting in her left the head of the infant Horus, with the sidelock of youth (an identifying characteristic of youth in Ancient Egypt).
