My submission…
My entry is an 1/10 scale Cen Racing DL F-450 truck. The truck was announced September of last year 2020. I per-ordered it but due to covid, high demand and shipping issues I did not receive truck until the end of January. This gave me ALOT of time to let thing stew in my head on how I wanted to customize my truck. I ordered a few parts meant for a Traxxas trx-4 that I thought I could modify to work on this much larger truck. One Biggie for me were the wheels they were fine but I like to add my style to all the wheels on all my trucks. I designed a center piece to the wheels to replace the original and a faux beadlock ring to the front and back of rim. Then I wanted a hood scoop to further separate my truck from any other took several redoes to make something I liked. I bought a set of trx-4 aftermarket aluminum foot rails they were too short for the F-450 so I designed a piece that would allow me to drop in the trx-4 piece but be long enough to better fit the size of the f-450, I also had to to make a piece for the inside of body to make body stronger for mounting foot rails. I made an diamond plate accent piece for the side of truck using rc4wd diamond plate and 3d printed a piece for it to set inside along the side of truck. I designed and 3d printed a piece to hold aluminum door handles to side of truck, I also designed and printed a gas cap. I redesigned the way the front bumper mounted 3 times the final one I ended up having it mount directly to truck body rather than the chassis for a tighter fit. To do this had to design a piece to the back of body to give it a lot of added strength to hold metal bumper guard without saging. I 3d printed a box to hold the white IBF light in front of bumper as well as I designed and 3d printed license plate holder for front of my truck. I always make bedrails for my truck bodies I designed and made these exstra beefy so I could actually use them.I designed a 3 piece system system to allow me to cover the bed on the RC4WD diamond plate held in place with 3d pieces I printed some metal pieces and magnets . One of my absolutes favorite things are my 1” polished stainless steel smoke stacks cut down from a 44” tube I bought. I designed a 3 piece mounting system that allows me to mount smoke stacks and the a winch I mounted to the rear of truck bed (smoke stakes will work with rc tank smoke system I bought but not installed yet). Designed and printed rear license plate and a rear bumperette piece. The only really functional parts I made were the front body post/shock tower that allowed me to use larger aftermarket shock as well as reposition them better. The truck had 3 link suspension with a swaybar I wanted 4 link but Cen Racing does not make piece for it so I reversed engineered there 3 link piece and printed a couple set so I did 4 link in back and will get around to doing it in the front of truck. The best piece I did for the truck and only piece I did not design is a Goodsons_Hobbies GH Scaler Trailer Utility Bed that I found on Thingaverse. I scaled it up around 30% for trailer to hold the 1/14 Quad I bought to carry around in back of trailer as well as make large enough to fit the traxxas trx-4 2.6” wheels and very large tires on back of trailer. I designed some inner and outer beadlock rings to transform the way stock trx-4 wheels looked on back of trailer. I designed and printed a mounting system for trailer axles tires were so large for trailer had to cut axle in half to lengthen them to fit I also printed pieces to cover where I cut rear axles and used the first set of bedrails from truck bed on trailer as well. I designed some sliver ribbed pieces for sides of trailer just to make my trailer that much different from anyone else’s. I used a TON of m1.6, m2 and m3 screws threwout build to help with scale realism only paint used on 3d printed parts was Molotow Chrome pen all parts printed on Modded Creality Cr-10 using black Inland PLA+. I designed everything on AutoDesk 123D Design only program I can afford FREE.
