Description
Hi and thank you for having such an amazing contest! This is my Axial SCX10II with many 3D parts and accessories. The most noticeable is probably the fully 3D printed popup trailer that I designed and printed. All of the pieces are 3d printed with the exceptions of hardware for the axle and wheels and tires themselves. The trailer has 3D printed light buckets with working LED lights including the turn signals and brakes. The light buckets were printed using clear PETG and the painted with Tamiya bottle paint. The popup trailer lid is easy to remove as it is a friction fit, it also has a panel that opens up to see what is inside - a full 3d printed interior. The carpet piece is not 3d printed, but the benches and stove are. The stove and sink are painted and the benches have material glued to them. The trailer connects to the truck with a 3D printed hitch I designed that mounts under the 3D printed bumper. The hitch mount was printed at 50% infill and then I used epoxy resin along the edges to help strengthen it. (It only lasted about a year before breaking). The roof of the trailer originally had 3d posts with aluminum bars from side to side to use as storage for other 3d printed accessories, canoes, and a kayak. The front of the trailer has a propane tank mount with magnets that I flush mounted during the design, then the propane tanks had magnets on the bottom so they would stay in place. During a bad rollover the tanks could spill out but it would take a pretty serious tumble. I trailer took a lot of sanding, putty and paint to remove most of the 3d layer lines. The trucks body is a Proline bronco that I painted. It also had 3D printed light buckets for the headlights, backup lights, and turn signals. I have printed many 3d accessories for this truck throughout the past couple years that I usually would trade or give away, including gas tanks, radios, trail markers and boats. The truck itself has many upgrades and was built from the builders kit. Having a 3D printer is an excellent addition to the hobby.
